Maryland Voter ID Legislation
Election — Polling Place — Proof of Identity

Friends of Free and Fair Elections,

If you have wanted to require ID when voting in Maryland, now is your chance to do something about it.  Below is a letter from Delegate Kipke, sponsor of HB 113, which will have a hearing in the House of Delegates next Wednesday, February 15.

Senator Jennings has introduced a companion bill (SB 412) in the State Senate, where hearings will be held Thursday, February 16.

If you support voter ID here in Maryland, we urge you to contact Senator Jennings and Delegate Kipke to find out how you can help move the bills forward.

Senator Jennings:  410-841-3706.
Delegate Kipke: 410-841-3421

If you won’t, who will?

Freely and Fairly,
Cathy Kelleher, President

Message from Delegate Nic Kipke

Dear friend of freedom,

On February 15, 2012 a hearing on HB113 will be held in the Ways & Means Committee of the House of Delegates in Annapolis.

This bi-partisan legislation will require a valid identification card to be eligible to cast a ballot in Maryland elections, or other documents the government currently supplies to voters including a voter registration card.

Please share this info with your organization with anyone you think may be interested in testifying or providing a letter of support. The legislation text is available here: http://mlis.state.md.us/2012rs/bills/hb/hb0113f.pdf

Political clubs, candidates, elected officials, or advocacy groups are encouraged to participate. My office will guide you through the process to testify or to submit written testimony.

Thanks so much for your support!

Yours truly,
Nic Kipke
State Delegate
